I recall having to memorize categories, and all you really need to do is look at a number and be able to find it on a shelf. I'm thinking about how you can make libraries less intimidating to kids. Recently I saw a suggestion of Dewey signage that included illustrations of the topics, to give a visual cue to kids who are less verbally inclined. Ah, well, library issues are fascinating to me.
